The Park’s Harlem River Event Site which has recently been outfitted with a brand new irrigation system, continues teh parks tradition of hosting large citywide events. Located directly to the west of Icahn Stadium, the Event Site consists of a 24-acre lawn and a four-acre asphalt production area. Randall’s Island has hosted such large scale festival concerts as Farm Aid, the Dave Matthews Band, Lollapalooza, and the Warped Tour. In addition to concerts, Randall’s Island has hosted non-music events such as Cirque du Soleil, the Nike Human Race and large corporate event.

Randall’s Island Park offers locations for all different types of special events.  These events can vary from family picnics and sports tournaments to corporate events and large concerts. If you are interested in hosting a special event on Randall’s Island Park, you must first complete the Parks Department Special Event Permit Application.  This can be done through the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation website by either downloading the permit and mailing it back or by applying directly online.
