The central section of the sculpture took shape this weekend, the most difficult portion, with the wood extending to one and a half times the depth of the "base." I need to now install threaded rods throughout the four vertical sections and straps running horizontally to tie the four columns together. This will all then need to be disassembled to transport the work to the site.
Tuesday through Thursday I will be on Randall's Island to dig the foundation, install fenceposts have concrete poured and receive the 7 tons of rip-rap stone that will surround the work. Long days ahead.
