Randall’s Island Park has a rich history of hosting cultural events and continues to do so today. Throughout the year, RIPA provides numerous free drop-in programs such as walking tours, movie nights, waterfront activities and our annual Cherry Blossom and Harvest Festivals. In addition, large special events, produced by independent organizations other than the City and RIPA, offer visitors a great variety of exciting options – continuing the Island’s strong tradition as a central entertainment venue for New York City.

The Jesse Owens Track and Field Program

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, repeating until June 12, 2021
The Jesse Owens Track and Field Program in partnership with City Parks Foundation enables kids to learn the fundamentals of the sport and stay active. This free weekly track & field youth program is available to youth ages 10-16 and is held Saturdays from 10am – 12pm. The program enables kids to learn the fundamentals of the sport and stay active this spring. Activities will focus on running techniques for sprints and relays and will introduce other track and field activities like long jump, hurdles, and javelin. Beginners welcome!
