Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Cherry Blossom and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

It’s Migratory Bird Day! Please join us for RIPA’s Birding Adventure. A chance to look for and learn about the approximately 50+ species of birds that either live year-round on Randall’s Island or are passing through.
Adventure Guide: RIPA staff and Gabriel Willow, environmental educator, ecologist, and urban naturalist. Gabriel is an experienced birder in NYC and beyond.
Who should attend: All interested birders, from first timers to experienced birders. We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds. This program will help you locate, identify and learn about birds and the NYC environment. It will be an exciting tour as Randall’s Island is an oasis where you can learn and discover something new/different every time out. We look forward to sharing our natural areas with you.
