DESCRIPTION:Join RIPA and WonderSpark Puppets for a puppet show and workshop at the urban farm during Bird Bonanza! Help us figure out “Who Will Help Me Make the Bread?” The classic story of a Hen who needs YOUR help to make some bread!  \nThe Little Red Hen is an interactive play that gets kids moving their bodies\, calling out and laughing! Every animal on the farm wants to eat the Hen’s bread\, but no one wants to help make it.  \nWe will learn the benefits of helping out and teamwork while exercising and singing along! SUMMARY:Black Birders Week Celebration: Birds & Bites
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate #BlackBirdersWeek at Randall’s Island Park with a day of bird-themed fun and activities! #BlackBirdersWeek is an initiative by Black AF in Stem which uplifts birders and scientists within the Black community. Join renowned local birders for a guided walk through the park and learn about the birds that make their home on the Island.  \nA limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow on a first-come\, first-served basis. This year\, we are offering two routes\, both starting at Icahn Stadium and concluding at our Living Shoreline:  \n\nFamily Friendly Route: 1.5 miles winding through our Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh \n\n\nAdvanced Route: 3 miles through our Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh and up along the Bronx Shore \n\nRegistration is recommended for the bird tours here. \nAfter the walks\, join us for a community celebration with music\, games\, and bites from a local business at our Living Shoreline! Black-identifying community members are highly encouraged to attend; all allies welcome.  \nThis event has two components\, and participants are welcome to attend one or both:  \n10 – 11:30am @Icahn Stadium: Bird walks  \n11:30am-1pm @the Living Shoreline: Food\, music\, lawn games  \nBlack-identifying community members are highly encouraged to attend\, all allies welcome. \nFor inquiries about accessibility\, to request an accommodation\, or for event information\, please email publicprograms@randallsisland.org.
