We’re excited to bring back an immersive art experience in which local artists will create live before our eyes and showcase previously created pieces. \nStroll through and explore our Urban Farm as you engage with the nature-inspired artists. Choose your own journey by watching a live art demonstration\, admiring finished pieces\, and creating your own art. \nVolunteers will aid in running the event\, helping artists\, crafts table and welcome table. DESCRIPTION:Join Randall’s Island Park Alliance for an afternoon of fishing for women\, femme\, and gender-nonconforming folx. Grow your own fishing skills\, share with other folks in and around the NY/NJ Harbor Estuary\, on our serene shoreline at the meeting of the Harlem and East Rivers. We strive to make spaces where other educators and anglers can hang out\, build community\, and create a vibe that works for us in what is a typically male-dominated activity. DESCRIPTION:Come see Flotsam River Circus on Randall’s Island on Saturday\, Sept. 13th\, and Sunday Sep. 14!\n\nFlotsam is a troupe of musicians\, circus artists\, and puppeteers traveling on a handmade raft\, giving free performances in waterfront towns along the way.\n\nThey’ll be performing at the SW side of the Island\, right by the Ward’s Island Pedestrian Bridge. Just look for the most unusual ‘boat’ on the water — that’s us!\n\nOur show is family-friendly but intended for audiences of all ages. The performance starts at 6:00 pm and will be finished before 7:30. Bring a blanket or lawn chair\, and come early for a good spot!\n\nThe show is free to attend\, but we keep this crazy project afloat through donations. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the fall harvest at the annual\, free Randall’s Island Harvest Festival! At the onset of the cooler months\, we’re bringing you a family-friendly day of fun centering the end of the growing season and outdoor recreation. Decorate and bring home your very own pumpkin from our immersive patch\, press cider from delicious\, fresh apples\, participate in a cooking demonstration with seasonal vegetables\, enjoy live performances\, have your face painted\, and learn about nature with our partners. \nThere will be a free Bike Valet provided by Transportation Alternatives. Safely park your bikes and enjoy the festivities with ease of mind. Citi Bikes will not be included in this valet service\, so if you take a Citi Bike to the festival\, please find the nearest docking station to park\, or ask a RIPA staff member where to dock.
