SUMMARY:International Coastal Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:International Coastal Clean Up is an annual event that helps us keep our shoreline free of marine plastics and refuse! \n\n\n\nAnnual Coastal Shoreline cleanup for the community to help keep our waters free of marine microplastics and litter. \n  \n\n\n\n\nJoin members from the community and different partners for our annual coastal cleanup with the Randall’s Island Park Alliance and the Ocean Conservancy. With miles of rocky coastline\, Randall’s Island Park can always use a hand removing marine plastics\, microplastics and litter that gather between the rocks and in our marshes. \n  \nMeeting at Icahn Stadium\, volunteers will be sent to various places on the island to collect and record what they have removed from the island. SUMMARY:Wild Oyster Survey
DESCRIPTION:Wild oysters are a key indicator of ecosystem health in the New York Harbor. Randall’s Island Park Alliance is partnering with the Billion Oyster Project to conduct a wild oyster survey in the Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh.  \nVolunteers will have the opportunity to identify oysters and take multiple parameters to determine the abundance\, size\, and health of the wild oyster population. Be sure to wear clothing and footwear you don’t mind getting muddy!
