Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. World Fish Migration Day
The Hudson River Estuary is home to more than 200 species of fish. Join our Natural Areas team as we wade into the river to survey the incredible underwater life along the shores of Randall’s Island. Participants can get up close and personal with some of the species found and watch as the seine nets come to shore and fish are safely handled, identified, and then released back into the river. Waterfront Festival
Celebrate water, science, and nature at Randall’s Island Park's annual Waterfront Festival! Learn about water as a natural resource with Science in the City, have your face painted by Sheila Jordan Art & Entertainment, and jump through a human-sized bubble with Bubbledad. We'll have live music, a performance, food for purchase, and engaging water-themed activities and crafts.
