Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

City Nature Challenge
April 30, 2021
Join us to learn about the incredible diversity of plants and wildlife that can be found on and around Randall’s Island (April 30th-May 3rd). Use iNaturalist to document and identify plants and animals. All of the observations will go towards the City Nature Challenge, a global competition to find out which city in the world can do the most to observe nature. Come out and explore Randall’s Island while making New York City number one for nature!
