Earth Day Volunteer Event!
April 22, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Celebrate the 51st anniversary of Earth day with Randall’s Island Horticulture and Natural Areas teams. Get hands-on with our woodland restoration project. Mulching the woodland path will provide valuable habitat for wildlife and expand park visitors’ experience. After mulching, our horticulturist leads a garden tour.
Work with our Natural Area’s team to help restore native plants and public access to our Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh. Salt marshes are some of the most productive habitats in the world and provide valuable protection against climate change. On Randall’s Island, they are home to more than 130 species of birds and 15 species of fish. After the project, our team will lead a salt marsh tour.
