Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

Foliage Walks

An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until November 10, 2016
Join us for a guided walk along our waterfront to view the gorgeous fall colors in our horticultural areas and wetlands!
Participants can learn about why changes in leaf color occur, the chemical representation of each of the colors, and why the leaves of different species turn different hues. In addition to the breathtaking views along the waterfront, participants will be guided through our salt marsh and our recently completed woodland path! Hot beverages will be provided.
