Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. Hell Gate Bridge Centennial Celebration Walking Tour

April 1, 1917 marks the date of the first passenger train to make its way over the newly constructed Hell gate Bridge.
Come join the Randall’s Island Park Alliance – exactly 100 years later – on a tour to celebrate this iconic structure! We’ll start at the Randall’s Island Connector and follow the bridge’s epic arches from north to south, ending at its longest and most grandiose span near the Randall’s Island Urban Farm.
