Randall’s Island Park has a rich history of hosting cultural events and continues to do so today. Throughout the year, RIPA provides numerous free drop-in programs such as walking tours, movie nights, waterfront activities and our annual Cherry Blossom and Harvest Festivals. In addition, large special events, produced by independent organizations other than the City and RIPA, offer visitors a great variety of exciting options – continuing the Island’s strong tradition as a central entertainment venue for New York City.

Outdoor Movie Night – Coco (PG)

Coco is a Disney Pixar animated film that tells the story of 12 year-old Miguel Rivera who is accidentally transported to the land of the dead. His love of music along with the help of new friend Héctor takes him on a journey that reveals the true story behind the history of his family.

We are excited to have Yadira Garcia from Healthy Happy Latina on-site at this event! Before the screening of Coco, Yadira will have a cooking demonstration on how to make a healthy snack using ingredients from the Urban Farm! We will also have a fun arts and crafts project and healthy drink samples from Scan NY’s Get Healthy East Harlem Program.
