Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

Team RIVER Volunteers

Volunteer with the Team RIVER (Randall’s Island Volunteer Ecological Restorers) and help keep Randall’s Island beautiful! Everybody who volunteers regularly with Team RIVER will be presented opportunities to learn plant identification skills, enjoy volunteer appreciation events, attend an occasional seminar on relevant subjects with an expert guest speaker and share their own relevant expertise. If you are only able to volunteer on a limited basis, you are still very much welcome!
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian before starting any work. Children under 16 must also have an adult with them while volunteering (please contact [email protected] for a copy of the waiver).
Registration is required through Eventbrite.
