Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

Urban Farm Exploration Day (Special Workshop: Science-based Nutrition from 1pm – 2pm)

Join us at the Randall’s Island Urban Farm for a cooking demonstration with SMART University’s Culinary Director and Chief Nutritionist Tawnya Manion. At SMART, Tawnya specializes in teaching classes with up-to-date science based nutrition; helping her students learn to prepare fresh, delicious and healthy meals! Tawnya will be conducting the workshop in our outdoor kitchen right on the farm, giving a wonderful farm to table experience for all in attendance.
Note: The Urban Farm Workshop with SMART University Culinary Director and Chief Nutritionist Tawnya Manion will be held from 1pm – 2pm.
