Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

Urban Farm Special Workshop – No Sweat Cooking

August 18, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

August is the hottest time of the year. Come learn how to make some vibrant and fresh dishes where you don’t have to turn on the stove. Some of the dishes, Chef Nadine*, Queen of Cuisine, will make will be Gazpacho, Popeye’s “Green” Salad, Pan -Asian Ramen Coleslaw, Moroccan Carrot Salad, and Korean Style Eggplant Salad.

This is a free event.

*Chef Nadine Nelson, Green Queen of Cuisine, is the eco chef and social entrepreneur of Global Local Gourmet, a roving community supported kitchen. Chef Nadine was born in Toronto, Canada of Jamaican Heritage. She is a social activist, cooking instructor, writer, experiential epicurean event producer and culinary artist. She designs and delivers cooking classes, culinary team building, wellness workshops, culinary tours, and epicurean event planning. She brings a worldly perspective to seasonal food.
