Deborah Maher

President  

Deborah Maher serves as President of the Randall’s Island Park Alliance. In this role, she administers the management, programming and restoration of nearly 400 acres of City parkland for active sports, entertainment and recreation use. Working with the Board of Trustees to strategically plan for Randall’s Island Park’s future, she is responsible for all governance issues, board development, donor relations and the financial planning and budgeting strategy for the Alliance. Deborah manages the Alliance’s operating budget, which supports over 100 full-time and seasonal employees. She works to better the Park for all New Yorkers and strengthen the public-private partnership between the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and RIPA.

Prior to joining RIPA in 2009, Deborah was a Senior Associate at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she was a member of the Securities/Corporate Governance and Complex Commercial Litigation Practice groups for nearly eight years. Deborah earned a J.D. from New York Law School, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and a BA in Journalism from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont.
