Randall’s Island Events
Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. Fungus Walk with The New York Mycological Society
November 2 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us as we partner with The New York Mycological Society to hunt for fungi in all its many forms. Learn how to find and identify fungi as well as their essential role in the ecosystem. Bring paper bags for collecting specimens, a hand lens, a knife, a tackle box (optional), water and a lunch.
We highly recommend using the iNaturalist app (IOS, Android) to document the fungi you find. Find out how to use it here.
