Randall’s Island Park Alliance Hosts Grand Opening of Icahn Stadium Plaza

The Randall’s Island Park Alliance is thrilled to announce the official opening of the Icahn Stadium Plaza; a captivating new public space by the north entrance of Icahn Stadium. Special thanks to Susan Donoghue and NYC Parks Arts & Antiquities for their support on this project.

The unveiling ceremony on Tuesday, April 16, marked a momentous occasion, bringing together esteemed board members, dedicated donors, instrumental partners, and distinguished elected officials to celebrate this significant milestone.

The Icahn Stadium Plaza proudly holds the iconic Discus Thrower sculpture as its centerpiece, adding an important part of its history to this vibrant new destination. The opening of the Plaza is a testament to the Alliance’s dedication to creating positive change in New York’s public spaces.
