Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. Black Birders Week Celebration: Birds & Bites

Celebrate the fifth annual #BlackBirdersWeek, an initiative by Black AF in Stem, with a birding walk and refreshments at Randall’s Island Park! Join renowned local birder Efua Peterson for a guided walk through the park and learn about the birds that make their home on the Island. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow first come first served. After the walk, bring a blanket and join us for a community celebration with bites from Field Trip Harlem!
*Black-identifying community members are highly encouraged to attend, all allies welcome.
This event has two components and participants are welcome to attend one or both:
12 – 1:30 PM – Birds: Bird Field Trip with Efua Peterson
1 – 3 PM – Bites: Food, music, lawn games
