Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully.

World Fish Migration Day
June 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Hudson River Estuary is home to more 200 species of fish. Join our Natural Areas team as we wade into the river to survey the incredible underwater life along the shores of Randall’s Island. Participants can get up close and personal with some of the species found and watch as the seine nets come to shore and fish are safely handled, identified, and then released back into the river. Activities and education staff will answer questions and share fascinating facts about fish.
