Since 1992, our Alliance has sponsored a range of free youth programs at Randall’s Island Park, which has given thousands of community children the opportunity to go outside and play in the great outdoor right in the middle of New York City. Each summer, RIPA hosts free summer camps for children from neighboring communities.

Summer Camp for Community Based Organizations

Randall’s Island Summer Camp

For over 20 years, RIPA has offered a free summer camp program to children, ages 6-12, from Harlem and the South Bronx. During five weeks in July and August, children are given the opportunity to escape city life and enjoy time outside playing on Randall’s Island. The camp offers a wide variety of sports and activities including tennis, golf, horseback riding, soccer, and nature lessons at our Urban Farm and wetlands. Working with a number of Community Based Organizations, RIPA is able to make a very real difference in over 7,000 children’s life each summer. Any Community Based Organization is welcome to apply to bring children to our summer camp. No individual children applications will be accepted. Please contact Anna Kemeny at for more information.
