Celebrate The Park At The Urban Farm!

Celebrate The Park At The Urban Farm!

At this year’s Gala, the Randall’s Island Park Alliance is proudly honoring two leaders whose contributions to athletic competition embody the spirit of excellence and access that the Alliance and the Gala celebrate.
As New York prepares to take center stage for the FIFA World Cup, we are excited to highlight the Alliance’s vital role in growing soccer at the grassroots level. Each year, more than one million players step onto our fields from across the City, from professional athletes to those kicking a ball for the very first time. The Gala is a moment to celebrate that broad community of athletics and to inspire future generations.
Set against the backdrop of our beautiful Urban Farm, the evening will unfold as a vibrant, roaming feast; complete with seasonal flare, craft cocktails, and live music from local performers. Guests will move through the space, enjoying an immersive and festive atmosphere.
Every Gala guest helps the Alliance underwrite programs that help expand access to completely free public events, which reach more than 20,000 New Yorkers each year, providing opportunities to learn, and connect, while also supporting environmental efforts to restore and protect urban habitats and preserve green spaces for future generations.
Celebrate with us and be part of a night that champions opportunity, community, and the enduring spirit of the beautiful game!

2026 Honorees

Tim Howard

Soccer Hall of Famer, World Cup Veteran, & NBC Sports Analyst

Tim Howard is an American soccer legend. He holds the record for the most caps and wins by a goalkeeper in U.S. Soccer history and played in three World Cups, including setting the record for most saves in a single World Cup match. He spent 13 seasons in the English Premier League, three with famed Manchester United and a decade with Everton, where he won an FA Cup, was named Premier League Goalkeeper of the Year, and became one of the club’s most beloved players. He also serves as Everton Football Club’s first U.S. ambassador. Tim began his career in MLS with the New York MetroStars and returned in 2016 to play for the Colorado Rapids. He retired at the end of the 2019 MLS season, earning honors including MLS All-Star, All-League, and Humanitarian of the Year.

Diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at a young age, Tim has dedicated countless hours to advocating for Tourette-related disorders. He continues to be a role model off the field through his philanthropic work and foundation. He is also the author of The Keeper: A Life of Saving Goals and Achieving Them, which chronicles his career and life with Tourette syndrome and OCD.

Personable and charismatic, Tim is now a full-time studio analyst for NBC Sports’ English Premier League coverage. He also hosts the top soccer podcast, “Unfiltered Soccer,” and is part of the ownership group for the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash. In 2024, he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

John Sulinski

Chief Operating Officer of The LandTek Group LLC & President of TenCate East

John Sulinski is the Chief Operating Officer of The LandTek Group (LandTek), where he has helped lead the company’s growth into a nationally recognized leader in sports design and construction since joining in 2001. With operations spanning 14 states and eight offices, LandTek became part of the TenCate family in 2024, a global leader in outdoor recreational surfaces. John also serves as President of TenCate East, overseeing multiple sports-related companies across the East Coast, and is a frequent speaker at industry events, including the American Sports Builders Association.

Over his career, John has contributed to thousands of sports construction projects, including work with the Randall’s Island Park Alliance and Major League Soccer clubs such as New York City FC, Philadelphia Union, Inter Miami CF, and the New York Red Bulls. His work is rooted in the belief that well-designed athletic spaces can strengthen communities and create meaningful opportunities for youth and families.

Beyond his professional work, John is committed to philanthropy and community service, supporting organizations such as the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation and the Marty Lyons Foundation. John’s passion for both construction and sports took shape early in his life. He was introduced to sports by his father, who served as an athletic director and health chairman for more than 40 years. John gravitated toward soccer and later lacrosse, while also developing a strong interest in construction and landscaping. Demonstrating an early entrepreneurial spirit, he started his own landscaping company during his junior year of high school.
