Join Us to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Icahn Stadium

In 2025, we proudly celebrate the 20th anniversary of Icahn Stadium, one of New York City’s premier sports venues, at our annual Gala. Held at the beautiful Urban Farm at Randall’s Island Park, this year’s Gala will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 6 PM.

Join us for a fantastic summer evening to celebrate the Stadium’s two-decade legacy of athletic excellence and community spirit in New York City. Enjoy delicious local food and creative cocktails, and vibe to the sounds of our community-based band and sunset views against the City skyline and waterfront backdrop.

The Gala is RIPA’s premier event—attracting over 400 attendees and raising more than $1 million annually to help maintain the park and continue to enhance your favorite programs all throughout the year.

2025 Honorees

Pinky Keehner

A devoted New Yorker and former Vice President of Randall’s Island Park for 20 years, Pinky helped create a state-of-the-art sports facility for kids in NYC. After discovering the life-size bronze Discus Thrower in storage, she was inspired to write the acclaimed book “Discus Thrower Meets Peter Pan” and restore the statue to its rightful place on Randall’s Island. We honor her generous contributions to both the park and the city. Her book, dedicated to RIPA, donates all proceeds back to the park.

Alex Egan

Alex Egan is a mainstay of the New York City running community, currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at New York Road Runners and as the President of the Board of Central Park Track Club. In his time on staff with the Randall’s Island Park Alliance, Alex worked to improve the Park for athletes and any New Yorker seeking green space for recreation and relaxation. A dedicated runner, Alex has completed nine TCS New York City Marathons, six Ironman competitions, and maintains an active Boston Marathon streak. We honor Alex’s generous contributions to the Park and New York City’s running community.

Pat Dormer

In 1983, Pat Dormer ran his first race at Randall’s Island, competing at the former Downing Stadium in the Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA championship meet. A fixture in the New York running community, Pat joined Xavier High School in 1993 as coach of the Cross Country and Track and Fields teams. Under his leadership, Xavier’s track program has grown from 11 athletes into one of the largest in New York State today, with over 170 athletes. His teams train, compete, and have set numerous school records at Icahn Stadium. We are proud to honor Pat and celebrate his tenure at Xavier, where he has coached 56 All-Americans, led the team to six CHSAA State Titles, and in the Fall of 2024, Xavier became the first New York City school to qualify for the prestigious Nike Cross Country Nationals.
