Randall’s Island Events
Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. LUZIA is inspired by the people, places, and stories that define Mexico. Take a journey through a dream of Mexico, from the folklore of old to the urban landscape of today. LUZIA takes you to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light (“luz” in Spanish) quenches the spirt and rain (“lluvia”) soothes the soul. With a surrealistic series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, LUZIA cleverly brings to the stage multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity.

The show runs from March 5 through April 27 and features approximately 70 LUZIA shows, with start times including the following:
- Wednesday-Friday: Shows start at 7:30 PM (Additional Friday shows on April 4 and 25 start at 4:00 PM).
- Saturday: Shows start at either 12:00 PM, 3:30 PM or 7:00 PM (Final Saturday on April 26, shows are at 1:00 and 4:30 PM).
- Sunday: Shows start at either 1:00 PM or 4:30 PM.
- Monday-Tuesday: No Shows!
Randall’s Island Park is happy to welcome back an old friend in Cirque du Soleil, so come out to the big top to enjoy one of the most vibrant and breathtaking circus shows in the world!
