Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 200 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. Winter Composting with the NYC Compost Project hosted by Big Reuse

Join the NYC Compost Project hosted by Big Reuse as we manage the 3-bin compost system at Randall’s Island Urban Farm!
We will be processing food scraps, yard waste, turning piles, and sifting finished compost.
Your volunteer work with us helps divert food scraps and organic waste away from landfills, which decreases greenhouse gas emissions and creates a soil amendment that goes back into parks, gardens, and public green spaces. Help us work towards a more ecologically sustainable community!
