- The Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works with the City of New York and local communities to provide an innovative and exciting destination through a wide range of sports venues, cultural events and environmental exploration. As the dedicated steward of Randall’s Island Park, the Alliance sustains, maintains, develops and programs the Park to support the wellbeing of all New Yorkers. RIPA is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment for employees and partners while working together as an organization to cohesively fulfill RIPA’s mission.

Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect in different contexts may include the following:
- Reservation Information: When you reserve access to Randall’s Island Park resources we collect your name, email address, street address, phone number, and other information regarding your reservation.
- Activity Information: When you sign up for activities through Randall’s Island Park, including summer camp, we will collect your name, street address, telephone number, as well as information about your child such as their name, school information, and relevant health or insurance information.
- Donation Information: When you donate to RIPA we collect your name, billing address, email address, phone number, and credit or debit card information.
- Volunteer Information: When you or your organization sign up to volunteer, we collect your name, organization name, email address, phone number, and other information regarding the volunteer information, such as any requested amenities.
- Mailing Lists: When you sign up for one of our mailing lists we collect your email address or postal address.
- Feedback/Support: If you provide us feedback or contact us for support we collect your name and email address, as well as any other content that you send to us, in order to reply.
Sensitive Information. As discussed above, we may collect sensitive personal information from you about your child’s participation in the Randall’s Island Summer Camp such as health information and insurance information for the camp participant.
Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
The information we collect includes:
- Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services and which we record in log files. Depending on how you interact with us, this log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type, and settings and information about your activity in the Services (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, searches, and other actions you take such as which features you use), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called “crash dumps”), and hardware settings).

- Our Tracking Technologies. We use technology to monitor how you interact with our websites. This may include which links you click on, or information that you type into our online forms. Some of these technologies may use “cookies.” Cookies are small pieces of information that a website sends to a computer’s hard drive while a website is viewed. - Third Party Tracking Technologies. We may allow third parties to place technology on our websites (e.g., a cookie or a pixel) that allows them to track you. The third party might also collect data over time and across other websites. They use this data to serve advertisements tailored to your interests, which may include advertisements about our products or services. We do not currently recognize the “Do Not Track” signal.
- HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We process the personal information for the following purposes listed below. We may also process your information for other purposes only with your prior explicit consent.
In addition to the purposes and uses described above, we process your personal information in the following ways:
- To identify you when you visit our websites.
- To improve, or create, our Services and offerings.
- To conduct analytics.
- To communicate with you, such as to respond to and/or follow-up on your requests, inquiries, issues, or feedback.

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents (“third parties“) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work.

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction. However, we may collect information from parents or guardians about their children under 18 years of age if the child will be volunteering or participating in an activity.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age or the equivalent age as specified by law in your jurisdiction has been collected, take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. We may collect personal information from parents or guardians about their children if the child will be volunteering or participating in an activity. We do not collect information directly from children. - Access To Your Personal Information. You may request access to your personal information or confirmation that we have information about you.

If you decide not to receive promotional emails, we may still send you service-related communications.
