Three Honorees Take Center Stage to Celebrate the 20th Season of Icahn Stadium

Since 2005, Icahn Stadium has been an institution in New York City for Track & Field athletes from all over the world, and the 2025 Randall’s Island Park Alliance Gala is proud to honor the stadium’s 20th anniversary.

The gala will be hosted at our Urban Farm on June 10, in addition to celebrating Icahn Stadium, RIPA will be honoring three individuals who have made an incredible impact on Randall’s Island Park and are part of the fabric of RIPA’s storied and charitable history.

Pinky Keehner – A former Vice President of the Randall’s Island Park Alliance for 20 years, Pinky helped create a state-of-the-art sports facility for kids in NYC. Her acclaimed book “The Discus Thrower Meets Peter Pan,” published by Abbeville Press, was inspired by her finding the bronze Discus Thrower statue that graces Icahn Stadium Plaza!

Alexander Egan – He is a mainstay of the New York City running community, currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at New York Road Runners and as the President of the Board of Central Park Track Club. Alex previously worked for the Alliance and remains committed to improving NYC by promoting green spaces for recreation and relaxation.

Patrick Dormer – A fixture in the New York running community, Pat joined Xavier High School in 1993 as coach of the Cross Country and Track and Fields teams. Under his leadership, Xavier’s track program has grown from 11 athletes into one of the largest in New York State today, with over 170 athletes, and continues to succeed under Pat’s leadership at the highest levels of track and field competitions.
