Aquatic July Schedule Promises to Keep Park Patrons Cool on Randall’s Island
Waterfront Festival Headlines July Programming Schedule
As temperatures rise throughout the month of July, find a way to cool down at Randall’s Island Park with some of our water-themed programming on the island.
July kicks off with our free yoga session on the first day of the month. Yoga is offered twice a week starting with Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM and then again Saturday from 10-11 AM at our East River Picnic Area! On Saturdays, follow that up with free dance lessons from 11-11:45 AM
Our other recurring programs that keep the park pristine are our Team RIVER Volunteer sessions that are every Wednesday from 930-12:30 PM and volunteering at our beautiful Urban Farm on Sundays from 10-1 PM!
The aquatic fun begins with our Wetland Wednesdays program happening on July 9! From 2:30-4:30 PM on the second Wednesday of every month, the marsh pathway gates on the boardwalk will be open and members of RIPA’s Natural Areas Team will be on site to answer questions, share interesting facts and more.
Just three days later on July 12, come spend more time with our Natural Areas Team at our City of Water Day celebration. Join us at Randall’s Island Park for a fun-filled afternoon of kayaking and salt marsh exploration! Now in its 18th year, City of Water Day is a region-wide day of appreciation and recreation centered around the unique and priceless shared-resource that is the greater NYC/New Jersey waterfront.
One week later on July 19, we will host our second festival of 2025, our beloved Waterfront Festival. We’ll have water-themed everything including games, crafts, snacks, face paint, and live performances, set against the confluence of the Harlem and East Rivers and the city skyline.
The month of free programming wraps up with a unique culinary event. Come to our Urban Farm for Cooking on the Farm: Global Street Food, where we’ll explore the vibrant flavors of street food from around the world! While learning from Chef Keesha about the cultural and nutritious significance of the foods, participants will create a dish together that everyone will ultimately get to enjoy using ingredients harvested right from our farm.
