Randall's Island Park Alliance Celebrates World Cup Champion Ali Krieger at 2024 Gala
The Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA) is proud to recognize Ali Krieger, a two-time World Cup Champion and advocate for parks and recreation, as our 2024 Gala honoree.
Ali Krieger’s distinguished soccer career includes World Cup victories in 2015 and 2019, captaining the Gotham FC to their first National Women’s Soccer League Championship in 2023, and playing for prestigious teams worldwide.
Ali’s passion extends far beyond the soccer field. She recognizes the power of parks and recreation in fostering community, health, and a love for sports. “I know, firsthand, that soccer brings people together,” Ali said. “All it takes is a ball and a few people and the seeds of friendship are planted.”
This sentiment perfectly aligns with RIPA’s mission of creating inclusive and accessible green spaces for all. We believe that parks have the power to transform lives, and Ali’s commitment to this ideal is truly inspiring.
The 2024 Gala was a night of celebration, honoring Ali’s achievements and raising critical funds to support RIPA’s vital work. The evening featured a video montage showcasing Ali’s career highlights and her dedication to promoting the importance of parks.
We are grateful to Ali Krieger for her support and for using her platform to champion the cause of parks and recreation. Together, we can ensure that everyone has access to the transformative power of green spaces.
