ART AT THE PARK

As part of NYC Parks’ Art in the Parks program and in partnership with Taglialatella Galleries, RIPA is excited to unveil an art installation by world-renowned artist Rubem Robierb at Randall’s Island Park – Empower Flower.

About the artwork

Empower Flower

Internationally recognized contemporary artist Rubem Robierb has createdEmpower Flower, a lotus shaped throne created as a symbol of praise, unity, and support of women’s rights. Five independent parts come together to form a lotus-like throne, thereby providing the space for park visitors to become the central focus of the artwork.  The sculptural will be on display in the Park from May 2022 – May 2023 and will be located near the 103rd Street Footbridge.

About the artist

Rubem Robierb

Rubem Robierb is known for the strong symbolism and underlying messages present in his art. He uses his art to discuss difficult topics about deep rooted social issues: LGBTQ+ rights, women’s empowerment, immigration, equality, gun control, worldwide protests, climate change, racism, and bullying.

Empower Flower, located near the 103rd Street Footbridge
