Throughout the year, RIPA hosts over 300 free public events including tours, movie nights, waterfront activities, our annual Earth Day and Harvest Festivals and more. These family-friendly drop-in events play an integral role in helping Park visitors explore the Island’s varied points of interest. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. NYRR Summer Speed Series Championships

September 2 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

See some of the city’s fastest runners, NYRR Summer Speed Series Championships qualifiers, compete head-to-head under the stadium lights. Watch club rivalries play out on the track, witness personal bests, and experience the tradition of New York’s unique track and field scene at an invitational championship. From sprints to middle-distance races and field events, the NYRR Summer Speed Series Championships lets you experience the championship energy up close and in person.

NYRR Summer Speed Series: Get ready for the 2026 NYRR Summer Speed Series at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island. Chase fast times on a state-of-the-art 400-meter Mondo track and test your speed across a full lineup of events. Whether you’re competing, trying something new, or racing with friends, this is your moment to shine under the stadium lights.
