RIPA Announces Four New Trustees, Including U.S. Soccer Legend Tim Howard
Howard, Conovitz, Egan, and Tanenbaum Join Board
NEW YORK, October, 6, 2026 – The Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA), the steward of New York City’s preeminent destination for world-class track and field, tennis, soccer, and more, today announced the approval of four new members of its board of trustees, including Tim Howard, former U.S. Men’s National Team Goaltender and current NBC Sports soccer analyst. Brandon Conovitz, Twelve President, Allie Egan, founder and CEO of Veracity, and Lauren Tanenbaum, Partner and Head of U.S. Capital Markets at Carlyle, round out the group of 2026 board additions.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to welcome such a thoughtful and talented group of individuals to our board of trustees,” said Deborah Maher, President & CEO of RIPA. “Each new trustee brings insight and expertise that align with the core values of the Alliance and we’re grateful for their support as we work to enrich Randall’s Island Park for the millions of visitors who enjoy the park for its wide variety of offerings.”
Howard, who currently serves as full-time studio analyst for NBC Sports’ English Premier League coverage, is one of the most decorated U.S. Soccer players in history, holding the U.S. record for the most caps and wins by a goalkeeper and playing in three World Cups, including setting the record for most saves in a single World Cup match. He joins former U.S. Soccer Federation President Sunil Gulati on the Alliance’s board, strengthening RIPA’s commitment to growing the game of soccer through partnerships with premier youth programs and professional clubs who play matches, operate clinics, host programs, and more on the Park’s 30 dedicated soccer fields and world-class soccer pitch at Icahn Stadium. Howard was also an honoree at the Alliance’s 2026 gala, which has previously honored U.S. Soccer stars Abby Wambach, Ali Krieger, and Carli Lloyd.
“Randall’s Island Park and Icahn Stadium are a hub for youth and professional soccer in New York City, and I’m excited to collaborate with the Alliance and build on the foundation they’ve created,” said Howard. “The Park is well-positioned to expand its positive impact on youth soccer in one of the largest markets in the country, and the Alliance and I are dedicated to making Randall’s Island Park an even greater resource for soccer players here in New York City.”
